Professor Robert S. Kass received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Michigan in 1972. He was appointed Assistant Professor of Physiology at the University of Rochester in 1977. He was recruited to Columbia University in 1995 as Chair of the Department of Pharmacology, promoted to Vice Dean of Research in 2008, and is now the Alumni and Hosack Professor of Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics. The Kass lab has focused on the structure and function of ion channels expressed in the heart. Prof. Bobin Mi is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon and scientist in the Department of Orthopaedics, Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Wuhan, China. Professor Svetlana Trofimova, MD, PhD is a leading expert in gerontology, ophthalmology, and preventive and anti-aging medicine. She serves as Deputy Director for Scientific and Clinical Work at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, Director of the "Tree of Life" Clinic of Predictive Medicine, President of the Russian Society of Anti-Aging Medicine, and Secretary General of the World Society of Preventive, Regenerative and Anti-Aging Medicine (WOCPM). Dr. Jingwei Xie received his B.S. (1999) and M.S. (2002) from Nanjing University of Technology, China, and his Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore (2007).
